guinness chocolate sauce

Good ice cream needs a good sauce.

1 cup Guinness Stout (about a half a can)
2 cups sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt

Bring everything to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer and let it thicken up -- about five to seven minutes. Let it cool before serving.
